Con's of Vaccinations

When it comes to vaccinations, there are several people who believe that vaccinations do more harm than good. There have been claims that vaccinating your children has connections to children who are develop Autism. Although there has not been much evidence to support this, there are several people who claim that the vaccinations their child received were a contributing factor in their child's autism. In this post, we will look at some of the main arguments people have against vaccinations.

One of the main negative side effects of vaccinations is that is can cause harmful side effects in the children who are receiving it. The CDC reports that "vaccines carry a risk of a life-threatening allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) in about one per million children." Things such as long term seizures, coma or permanent brain damage have been associated with the DTap vaccine and MMR vaccines, though these are considered very rare by the CDC. The National Vaccine Information Center also reports that vaccines may also be linked to other problems such as learning problems, asthma, and autism.

Besides medical problems that can come from vaccinations, many people believe that vaccines are wrong simply because it infringes on our rights to require vaccinations, and that the government should not be involved in a persons medical decisions. For children, they believe that choices regarding medical decisions should be made by the child's caregiver, not the government. It is also argued that vaccines are an unnatural part of the bodies immune system, and that a person's natural immune system would be stronger and would protect against more illnesses than a required vaccine.

Pro's of Vaccinations

Vaccinating your children has become a very controversial topic in the United States. While many people believe that vaccinations are necessary to protect both the child and the public from disease, there are many people who believe that vaccinations have been linked to diseases such autism. First we're going to look at the positive side of vaccinating your children. I've included a link that contains a lot of the information I am going to talk about today.

One of the main reasons that it is important to vaccinate your child is because it is considered an important step in making sure that your baby stays healthy. When children get vaccinated, they are protected from diseases that once killed thousands of people in the United States. Vaccines are now safer than ever and protect from more diseases than they ever had in the past. Diseases such as Polio are not almost extinct due to the fact that children all over the country are choosing to get vaccinated to protect themselves against. Besides protecting your baby, vaccinations can help make sure that everyone around you stays safe from harmful diseases as well. If families stopped getting vaccinated, it is likely that the same diseases that once killed thousands of people will come back after being considered almost extinct.

Vaccinations have become very safe and effective. It is rare for children to have any type of reaction to vaccinations. Schools often times require students to be vaccinated before entering school, so that they do not put other students at risk. A student who has not been vaccinated could easily spread diseases to other children. Vaccinating your children will simply decrease the risk of spreading serious disease to other members of the community and helps keep serious diseases at bay.
